It’s an age-old tale that Link and Zelda are romantically tied. True, it’s never explicitly stated in the games, but it’s not hard to pick up on the ambiguous undertones. Fans have discovered a description within the English translation of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment that threatens to derail everything we hold to be canon, defining the pair’s relationship as “just friends.” Suffice to say that fans are not falling for it. You can say what you want to say, Nintendo, but we all know the truth.

The description originates from an in-game journal entry from Princess Zelda’s ally, Lenalia. The entry reads, “…she smiled and mentioned she was simply following the example of a knight—and friend—from her own time.” Friend? Yeah, sure. ZeLink shippers are far from convinced.
