No longer a prince, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor gains a hyphen in his name Updated 16 mins ago The former Prince Andrew has officially changed his name to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, adding a hyphen to align with the royal family’s surname style. The name combines Windsor, chosen by King George V, with Mountbatten, the surname of Queen Elizabeth II's husband, Prince Philip. The change follows King Charles III's decision on Oct. 30 to strip Andrew of his titles and evict him from his royal residence due to his ties with Jeffrey Epstein. The king also removed Andrew's title of prince for what the palace called serious lapses of judgment. Andrew denies allegations of sexual misconduct made by one of Epstein's accusers, Virginia Roberts Giuffre.
