We're set for some Wednesday night MACtion in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, in a game that could have significant impacts on the conference title race.

The Buffalo Bulls (5-4, 4-1 MAC) travel to take on the Central Michigan Chippewas (5-4, 3-2 MAC), and the winner will emerge in a position to contend for the MAC. Buffalo currently sits at second place in the conference, while Central Michigan looks to remain in a heavy crowd of teams with two conference losses.

If you are looking for some betting advice for the matchup, we've got you covered. Here are the latest odds for the game, courtesy of BetMGM.

Central Michigan vs. Buffalo prediction, pick:

If there's one thing I can confidently tell you about this game, it's that you should take the under. Both of these teams rank outside the top 100 in offensive success rate. Unlike Buffalo, Central Michigan does have some success in the passing game and has a fairly explosive unit. Neither team runs the ball particularly efficiently.

The real difference comes when you look at the defenses. The Chippewas' unit also ranks in the bottom half of the FBS, but Buffalo actually has a top-25 unit when it comes to success rate and doesn't have a glaring weakness against the run or pass. The Bulls create a lot of defensive havoc and do a good job of limiting explosive plays.

In what should be a low-scoring game, I'll take the team with the legitimately good defense, even if it's a road underdog.

Prediction: Buffalo 21, Central Michigan 17
