Thousands of young students who saw a hockey game in person for the first time on Wednesday morning were treated to five goals and a 3-2 Toledo Walleye win over Cincinnati.

Among the capacity crowd of 7,567 at the Huntington Center for the organization’s School Education Day game were students in elementary school up to high school.

Forwards Colby Ambrosio and Tanner Kelly scored first-period goals for the Walleye, while defenseman Riley McCourt tallied the game-winner with 2:01 left in the second period. Tanner Dickinson and Chad Hillebrand each had two assists.

The Walleye scored two goals in the first period before the Cyclones scored the next two to tie it at 2. McCourt then scored the game-winner late in the second period.
