Police in Maryland are investigating a suspicious death following a weekend shooting that left one person dead and another injured in Owings Mills, officials said.
Officers from the Franklin Precinct responded to the 200 block of Pittston Circle around 1:50 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, for a report of a shooting, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both were rushed to area hospitals, where the woman, 24-year-old Chariyah Woods, was pronounced dead. Her body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy will determine her official cause and manner of death.
The man was treated and evaluated at the hospital. His condition was not available on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
Police described the case as a “suspicious death” and said homicide detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Baltimore County Police.
