A busy road has been closed with a cordon in place amid reports of an ongoing police incident.

An air ambulance was scrambled to the scene along with paramedics and police, to the Rochdale Bypass (A664), Greater Manchester , with the road taped off in both directions.

Officers remain at the scene, along with ambulances and incident response units. A large HGV has been pictured within the cordon. According to live traffic service Inrix, there is 'very slow traffic' in the area due to the major road closure. 17:23 Tim Hanlon
