LSU opened the season as well as anyone could reasonably hope.
It beat Tarleton State 96-60 in the season opener, shooting a program-record 71.7% from the field. It most recently faced a UNO team that earned a 78-74 victory at TCU, where the Tigers led by as many as 21 points. The Tigers outplayed the Privateers 93-58 on Monday and outrebounded them by 20.
LSU has outscored its opponents by a combined 71 points. This is an improvement from last season, when it won by a combined 48 points against its first two opponents, ULM and Alabama State.
The team will likely continue this type of dominance when it faces another mid-major in Florida International at 7 p.m.Thursday at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
Coach Matt McMahon has been pleased to see large margins of victory
