Carer's allowance is being kept "under review", according to an update from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) .

The Government-run carer's allowance benefit scheme enables carers, someone who cares for another person for at least 35 hours each week, to claim £83.30 per week week.

For each week someone gets carer’s allowance, they will automatically get National Insurance credits, and people receiving this benefit can also choose to be paid weekly in advance or every 4 weeks.

The DWP has now issued an update regarding carer's allowance, claiming that the benefit scheme always remains "under review" and they are "taking steps" to improve the way that it operates.
