A man accused of taking an occupied Hamilton bus for a joyride on Tuesday night apparently took the outing seriously — very seriously.
So seriously, in fact, that cops say he denied entrance to one person trying to board the bus with an expired pass.
Hamilton Police say the incident happened around 9 p.m. after a Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) bus driver pulled into the McNab Bus Terminal and left the vehicle for a short break.
During this time, cops allege, a man entered the unattended bus and drove away — with an unspecified number of passengers still on board.
According to police, the suspect travelled up the Hamilton Mountain, making multiple stops along the way, allowing passengers to board and exit freely.
That’s when he went as far as to deny entry to someone looking to board
