MATTOON, Ill. (WAND) - A Mattoon man who was arrested after he threatened to "kill everyone in the police department" this summer has been sentenced.
The Mattoon Police Department said in a July 22 press release that the incident began when Noah Olson, 29, called about a water leak in his apartment.
Olson reportedly hung up on dispatchers and called back three separate times, becoming more aggressive and agitated each time.
After Olson believed that officers had not arrived fast enough, he threatened a 911 dispatcher, saying that he would "kill everyone in the police department."
Officers arrived on the scene where Olson was said to be erratic in his behavior and threatened officers in person. The officers tried to de-escalate the situation when Olson retreated into his apartment, wher
