Chattanooga's Walnut Street Bridge continues to undergo renovation. The City of Chattanooga shared a progress update on Wednesday, November 12.
River Street will be reduced to one lane through December 2, according to the progress update. Crews will lay new boardwalk over River Street during the closure.
Sandblasting, painting, steel and woodwork has finished on spans 5 and 6. Crews continue to replace wood decking from span 6 to Frazier Avenue, which the city says will be finished soon.
Parts of the bridge now have vibrant new blue and white paint as well.
