The devil is an outfit repeater? She's certainly rewearing Prada.
Fashion and film fans have reason to rejoice after the teaser trailer for "The Devil Wears Prada 2" dropped on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
A highly anticipated follow-up to the 2006 cult classic, the movie reunites much of the original cast for another odyssey into the glossy and cutthroat halls of the fictional Runway magazine. Arriving nearly a decade after the original film's release, "The Devil Wears Prada 2" will bring back Emily Blunt as Hathaway's industry-obsessed foil, Emily Charlton, and Stanley Tucci as Runway's art director, Nigel.
Allegedly based on Vogue, with star Meryl Streep's steely but beloved character Miranda Priestly a loose interpretation of Anna Wintour, the trailer nods cheekily at the reference, using Madonna's "Vogue" as background music.
While little of the plot is revealed, Streep is seen walking through the hallways in studded red pumps, entering an elevator in a chic black and white getup paired with heavy shades. Just as the doors begin to close, Anne Hathaway, reviving her role as scrappy journalist turned fashion-forward Runway assistant Andy Sachs, sticks her hand in, entering the vestibule with her own pair of shades and a cunning smile.
The movie, set to release May 1, will bring on Hollywood veteran Lucy Liu, as well as Justin Theroux, Variety and People previously reported.
Undoubtedly bringing comic relief, "The Office" star B.J. Novak and "Sex Lives of College Girls" actress Pauline Chalamet will also appear, according to the outlets. TikTok comedian Caleb Hearon also earned a spot on the cast, the latest internet star to crossover into film and television.
