Stan Lee, born on Dec. 28, 1922, in Manhattan, made a name for himself as a comic book writer, editor, publisher and producer. Lee rose through the ranks of the family-run business Timely Publications, which became the creative leader of Marvel Comics. The comic book icon helped co-create superheroes like Spider-Man, X-Men, Iron Man, Black Panther, Scarlet Witch, Black Widow and so many more.
