Big new plans have been announced to expand cycling and walking in Stockport town centre and beyond.
The council is aiming to create a ‘connected network of walking and cycling routes’ to key locations such as Stockport train station, Hollywood Park, Castle Street, Stockport College, and Edgeley Park football stadium.
Active travel links are also planned beyond the town centre to Alexandra Park, Davenport, and Adswood.
It comes ahead of a £350m project to build a new neighbourhood known as Stockport 8 in the western part of the town centre, with up to 1,300 homes.
