COLUMBIA, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) confirmed on Wednesday that a skunk has tested positive for rabies in Anderson County.

DPH said a skunk found near Evergreen Church and Shirbill roads in Starr tested positive for rabies. Two dogs were exposed and will be quarantined as required in the South Carolina Rabies Control Act.

According to officials, the skunk was submitted for testing on Friday and confirmed to have rabies on Monday.
