SNAP recipients on Wednesday still were dealing with a lot of uncertainty surrounding benefits even as lawmakers prepare to vote to reopen the government.

Full SNAP benefits are on hold until at least late Thursday after the U.S. Supreme Court extended a pause on payments.

While their fate rests on the Washington proceedings, Bay Area SNAP recipients are relying on local food banks and pantries to help keep food on the table. At a food distribution event Wednesday at Sunnyvale Community Services, there was a line before the doors even opened.
