DULUTH — A jury has convicted a man of the felony assault of his young child.
Lashe Darnell Hamler, 30, of Duluth, was found guilty of two counts by a 12-member panel after a four-day trial in State District Court last week.
The victim, according to court documents, reported that his father pushed him into a wall and the floor before throwing him outside last December. The child suffered several injuries, including a fractured collarbone.
A criminal complaint indicates staff members noticed the child had a bloody nose and cut lip when Hamler dropped him off at his elementary school Dec. 4, 2024. Hamler told teachers he had run into a wall.
However, after Hamler left, the student said his shoulder was hurting and that his father had pushed him into the wall, according to the complaint.
