COAL HILL — A 25-year-old Coal Hill man is accused of first-degree murder after a shooting Tuesday afternoon at Coal Hill City Park.

Colton T. Contant was arrested about 4 p.m. Tuesday and booked into the Johnson County Detention Center in Clarksville in connection with first-degree murder, jail records show.

He remained in the jail Wednesday afternoon, but no bond is specified, according to the jail roster.

Kenneth E. Michaels, 68, of Clarksville was found dead in the park about 3:30 p.m. by a Coal Hill police officer, according to Arkansas State Police.

Contant was identified as the suspected shooter and was seen as he fled the area, State Police said in a Wednesday news release.
