GARNER, N.C. (WTVD) -- A U.S. Army Green Beret got a warm welcome to his brand new, mortgage-free home during a Veterans Day ceremony in Garner on Tuesday.

The home was made to fit the needs of Sergeant First Class, Eddy Kim, through the Operation Coming Home initiative.

Kim was paralyzed during a training exercise at Fort Bragg last December.

"From the very get-go, it was very surreal. I'm pretty sure I'll just wake up in a dream in my bed somewhere. Kind of unbelievable almost," said Kim.

Kim is the 29th Hero Home Recipient through Operation Coming Home.
