The Pittsburgh Steelers have activated quarterback Will Howard to the active roster from injured reserve for the first time this season after he suffered a broken bone in his throwing hand during training camp. Howard will now serve as the third quarterback on the roster behind Aaron Rodgers and Mason Rudolph.
The injury occurred on a freak snap exchange during an August practice, causing Howard to miss the entire preseason and the first four weeks of the season.
Quarterbacks coach Tom Arth says that if Howard is slated to return, he looks great, and is ready to come back at a moment’s notice.
