SAN FRANCISCO -- Waymo announced Wednesday that its self-driving vehicles have received the green light to offer rides on San Francisco Bay Area, Phoenix and Los Angeles freeways.

Some northern California riders can also now book rides from San Francisco to San Jose, including curbside service at San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC).

The expansion creates a 260-square-mile network across the Peninsula.
