WASHINGTON COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) - A judge declared a mistrial Wednesday in the murder trial of a North Plains man accused of shooting and killing his brother in January 2024.
Robert Horning was on trial, accused of killing his brother Carl Horning at Horning’s Hideout, the popular wedding venue where Robert worked as manager.
The trial began on Oct. 27 , with jury deliberations beginning on Nov. 7.
After three days of deliberations, the jury in the trial reached a deadlock. The jury told the judge Wednesday morning they could not reach a verdict and the judge declared a mistrial.
The Washington County District Attorney’s Office told FOX 12 they plan to retry the case. No word yet on when the retrial will begin.
