Asher Waites hasn’t gotten used to being a film star yet.
“It was actually pretty cool to be able to walk around, see birds and be in a movie,” Asher said. “My friends believe I am famous now. Now that they saw the movie, they believe I was in it.”
The seventh grader at Hawkins STEAM Academy, along with his brother Levi, a fourth grade student, are some of the people featured in the new movie Ohio: Wild at Heart, produced by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and MacGillivray Freeman Films.
Filmed in July 2024, the movie showcases Ohio’s natural wonders with aerial cinematography of places like the cliffs and waterfalls of Hocking Hills, to Lake Erie.
