A six-year-old boy has died under circumstances that Humberside Police are treating as "unexplained". A 37-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl have been arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of a child. Emergency services were called to a property on Searby Road in Scunthorpe at approximately 9am on Monday, November 10, after the boy was reported to be suffering a medical episode. Despite being taken to hospital, he died shortly after arrival. Detective Chief Inspector Ben Robinson stated, "An investigation has been launched whilst we carry out lines of inquiry to establish the full circumstances surrounding the child's death, which is currently being treated as unexplained." Both the woman and the teenage girl remain in custody and are assisting officers with their inquiries. A scene guard has been established at the property as the investigation continues.
