A kind-hearted firefighter who launched his own garden maintenance firm has spoken of how his daughter acted as his main motivation.
Jamie Hall, from the Gyle area, has spent the last 17 years as a heroic firefighter in the capital.
Based out of the Sighthill station, the 47-year-old decided he wanted to do something with his free time when off-shift from tackling infernos.
When daughter Jessica, now 14, started primary school, Jamie decided to fill his days off by carrying out good deeds for his elderly neighbours, helping with garden weeding and trimming the hedges.
He confessed he learned a lot from those he assisted, and two years ago he decided to go into business with his brother, to launch Edinburgh Gardening Services Ltd.
