Multiple medics responded to a middle school in Southeast D.C. Wednesday afternoon after several children reportedly overdosed, the fire department says.

D.C. Fire and EMS got to Stephen E. Kramer Middle School on Q Street SE shortly before 2 p.m.

First responders evaluated six patients, all juveniles, the fire department said. One child is being taken to a hospital, officials said.

Six ambulances were dispatched to the school.

D.C. Fire and EMS said it's not yet clear what the students ingested.
