Five people were rescued after their sailboat sank hundreds of miles off a North Carolina cape, authorities said.
The incident happened on Friday, Nov. 7, about 260 nautical miles offshore Cape Hatteras, the maritime law enforcement agency stated in a news release .
The victims were from Connecticut and Rhode Island and were headed to the Bahamas when the sailboat, Magic Bus , sank, CT Insider reported. The Coast Guard did not mention what caused the sailboat to sink.
