Corporal Blake Reynolds , a Delaware County Sheriff's deputy, died early Wednesday morning (November 12) after being struck by a semitruck on Interstate 69 in Indiana. Reynolds, a four-year veteran of the sheriff's office, was assisting a stranded motorist when the incident occurred.

According to the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, Reynolds was responding to a disabled semitruck partially blocking the roadway near the 247-mile marker. He parked his patrol car behind the vehicle and activated his emergency lights to protect the driver. While outside his vehicle, another semitruck lost control and collided with Reynolds' patrol car and the disabled truck. Despite immediate emergency efforts, Reynolds did not survive his injuries.
