Authorities identified a victim killed in a head-on crash in Rensselaer County as an 80-year-old woman from Columbia County.
The crash happened around 2:10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, on State Route 20 in the town of Nassau, as Daily Voice reported. An eastbound vehicle crossed into the opposite lane and struck a westbound vehicle head-on.
On Wednesday, Nov. 12, New York State Police confirmed that Chatham resident Patricia Balcom, the driver of the westbound vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle was taken to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries and remains hospitalized in stable condition.
