ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A manufacturer has scrapped plans for a battery plant in north St. Louis.
Last year, the ICL Group LTD announced plans to expand into north St. Louis with a state-of-the-art, more than $500 million facility on Carrie Avenue along the North Riverfront. They already are in South City.
Now, the company said it would be stopping the previously announced project in the City of St. Louis, as well as one in Spain.
“This decision was made after a careful review of shifting market dynamics and reflects the impact of recent changes in government policies, including the termination of the U.S. Department of Energy grant,” read a press release posted on Wednesday.
