KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) - A Lenoir County man is facing cocaine charges after his arrest following a traffic stop.

Kinston police stopped a car last Thursday on West New Bern Road and found evidence of drug activity.

Police say they searched the passenger, 45-year-old Frankie Ellis, and found a bag with more than 9.2 ounces of cocaine hidden in his waistband.

Ellis was charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine, maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances, and possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine.

He was taken to jail on a $500,000 secured bond.
