Medical examiner identifies 79-year-old man who died in Fitchburg apartment fire

FITCHBURG, Wis. (WKOW) -- The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office released the name of the man who died after an apartment fire in Fitchburg.

The agency identified him as 79-year-old Daniel B. Colby of Fitchburg.

Preliminary results of a forensic examination show Colby died from injuries he sustained in the apartment fire.

The fire started just before 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, at the building at 2937 Fish Hatchery Road.
