HANOVER, Va. (WWBT) - This weekend, Hanover County residents have the chance to drop off old electronics, like TVs or tablets, to a free e-waste recycling event.
People can make their way to the Mechanicsville Convenience Center, 7427 Verdi Lane, on Nov. 15.
The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., but it’s only open to Hanover residents (ID required).
Officials provided a list of acceptable items:
Flat-screen monitors and televisions
CRT TVs
Computers, tablets, cellphones
Printers
Rechargeable batteries, and small electrical items with a plug like microwaves
There are a few items not being accepted by the event, such as:
Appliances containing freon
Alkaline batteries
Smoke detectors
