Local nonprofit Hungry Hearts is pledging to match up to $25,000 raised through the Harrisburg School District’s Angel Fund to cover school meal debt for students.
The donation will help cover the costs for families who make 185-210% of federal poverty guidelines and don’t currently qualify for free or reduced-price meals. More than 1,100 of Harrisburg’s 6,400 students qualify for free or reduced-price meals.
