EXCLUSIVE : Roberta Flack , the Grammy-winning star behind “Killing Me Softly with His Song”, is getting the biopic treatment.

The singer songwriter, who was the first solo artist to win Record of the Year at the Grammys, starting with “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”, is to be the subject of a scripted feature film from Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts and her Rock’n Robin Productions banner.

Roberts’ production company has secured Flack’s life rights and is developing the film as well as a documentary project based on her life. The newscaster is working closely with Flack’s longtime managers Suzanne Mina Koga and Joan Martin on both projects.
