People may have a chance to see an aurora borealis on Nov. 12 as the northern lights are expected to be visible from Oregon.

The NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center has predicted that the aurora's "viewline," which represents the southern-most locations from which the aurora may appear along the northern horizon, will be within much of the northern United States on Nov. 12.

Nearly two dozen states, including Oregon, are shown to be in the path of the aurora borealis, appearing with varying intensity and visibility on NOAA’s prediction map.
