MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Three men are in custody, accused of robbing a Whitehaven jewelry store at gunpoint.
The alleged robbery happened at Memphis Gold & Diamond on Elvis Presley Boulevard just after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Police say two men dressed as women entered the business and held the employees at gunpoint.
Three additional suspects then entered the business and stole an estimated $200,000 in merchandise.
Police arrived at the scene and took one suspect into custody while four others escaped in a Nissan Maxima.
Officers attempted to pull the driver over, but the suspects drove into Mississippi where they were eventually stopped in the area of Nail Road and Summerset Road.
The group ran from the scene and three were detained. One of those was later released after police determined
