Seven people were displaced following a three-alarm fire at a home in Bridgeport on Wednesday.

Crews responded to Cleveland Avenue at 11:44 a.m. on the report of a structure fire and found heavy fire on the second and third floors in the rear of the home, according to Danielle Wedderburn, director of communications for the city of Bridgeport.

Wedderburn said a second alarm was called in before a third alarm was activated. The fire was put out by firefighters but not before it left the home uninhabitable.

No injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross is assisting the five adults and two children who were displaced.

Mutual aid station coverage was provided by the Fairfield and Stratford Fire Departments, while crews from the Bridgeport Fire Department worked to battle the fire.
