LONDON, Ky. (WXIX) - A controversial social experiment led by a Kentucky woman has sparked a nationwide debate about religious institutions.
Millions have viewed Nikalie Monroe’s TikTok videos where she calls places of worship to test their willingness to lend a helping hand.
“I’m about to test your church, to see if your church is willing to help somebody in need,” Monroe says at the beginning of her videos.
Curiosity sparked the premise for Monroe’s viral experiment.
“Hi, I was wanting to see if y’all could help at all. I have a two-month-old baby, and I was wanting to see if you guys could help with formula,” Monroe asks on the phone, while recording herself.
