DUPLIN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - New details have been released in this past weekend’s hit-and-run crash that killed a mother and her young daughter.
It happened around 9:00 p.m. Sunday on Highway 903 just south of Magnolia in Duplin County.
The Highway Patrol has charged Milton Ramos Meza with two counts of felony death by vehicle, felony hit/run with serious injury/death, driving while impaired, reckless driving/wanton disregard, failure to maintain lane control, possession of open container, and no operators license.
Jaqiera Rogers, 24, and her six-year-old daughter, Kamirah Oilus, were killed in the crash that also damaged a utility pole.
Troopers say the mother was pulling out of a driveway when Ramos Meza’s vehicle hit them as he went off the road and struck the other vehicle.
