About six Democrats have announced plans to run for Gov.-elect Mikie Sherrill’s House seat, about a week after the congresswoman’s win in the gubernatorial race.
In front of his childhood home in Montclair, Essex County Commissioner Brendan Gill announced his campaign to represent the 11th Congressional District on Monday. A crowd of more than 150 people stood in the rain outside his parents’ Rydal Place home to show their support for Gill.
Gill, 51, is expected to vie against former Rep. Tom Malinowski, Passaic County Commissioner John Bartlett, Morris Township Mayor Jeff Grayzel, White House alum Cammie Croft, and Chatham Borough Councilman Justin Strickland for the CD-11 term, which runs until Jan. 3, 2027.
