ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian said Wednesday if the partial government shutdown ends Wednesday, the company’s flights will be “back to normal by the weekend.”
Bastian made the comments on CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street.”
“If shutdown ends today it will be back to normal by the weekend.” When asked again, he said Friday or Saturday.
He said that Delta has had more than 2,000 cancellations since the Federal Aviation Administration’s mandate to reduce flights because of the shutdown was issued last Friday.
A total of 40 airports were impacted by the mandate, including Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
