Reba McEntire and fiancé Rex Linn are content to let their wedding plans unfold naturally as they prioritize their careers and enjoy their engagement.

The 70-year-old country music star told PEOPLE that she and Linn, 68, have not set a wedding date since their Christmas Eve 2024 engagement at their Tennessee ranch.

“Work comes first, so we’ll see,” McEntire said.

The couple began dating in 2020 and have built what McEntire describes as a “very low-key” relationship. When they do marry, she said the celebration will include “friends and family.”

McEntire spoke warmly about their partnership during the interview.

“We love each other, respect each other, love to hang out,” she said. “We’re best friends. It’s perfect. I’m really grateful God kept him for the last.”
