CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - During the third day of testimony in the trial of two men accused of robbing and killing a NoDa restaurant co-owner, a man was kicked out of the gallery after his wife was arrested for allegedly trying to bring a gun into the Mecklenburg County Courthouse.
Testimony in the trial of Terry Connor Jr. and Steven Staples resumed on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
The men were accused of robbing Brooks’ Sandwich House co-owner Scott Brooks of $100 before shooting and killing him on Dec. 9, 2019. The pair was also connected to other robberies and murders, which the state brought up during the second day of trial.
Following news of the woman’s arrest, Judge Louis Trosch Jr. threatened to close the courtroom’s gallery for the integrity of the trial.
