NATCHITOCHES, La. (KSLA) - A LaSalle Corrections officer has been arrested for allegedly stealing an inmate’s property.
On Nov. 11, around 1:39 p.m., the Natchitoches Police Department (NPD) was notified of a theft at LaSalle Corrections/Natchitoches Parish Detention Center earlier in the week.
Officers met with LaSalle Correction administrators, who told them that an inmate was missing money from their property upon release.
During the investigation, officers reviewed security cameras and claimed to see Moesha Collier, 28, a correctional officer for LaSalle Corrections, remove the property from the inmate’s currency bag and put it in her pocket.
Collier has been placed in the LaSalle Corrections/Natchitoches Detention Center and charged with malfeasance in office, a felony charge.
