The city of South Haven is reminding everyone about seasonal ordinance changes taking effect this month.

Starting November 15 and continuing through March 15, the city’s Snow Control Ordinance will be in effect. That means no parking on any city street between 2:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. The rule helps snowplows clear the roads.

Police say drivers can apply for an exemption to the rule from the police chief in special cases, like homes without driveways, but keep in mind that tickets can be issued even if there’s no snow on the ground.

Also ending this week is golf cart season. November 15 is the last day golf carts are allowed on city streets. They’ll be permitted again starting March 15. Those caught driving a golf cart after November 15 could face a ticket.
