Sting will be starring in a newly adapted version of The Last Ship, a show he wrote the score for that was loosely inspired by his childhood. Originally on Broadway back in 2014, the updated Last Ship will feature a new book as well as retooled, personal songs from Sting. He’ll play the protagonist, Jackie White, who returns to his hometown in the northeast of England and witnesses the ripple effect in his community when it’s announced that the shipyard — the town’s beating heart — is closing down.
