LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - As the holiday season approaches, the Greater Lansing Food Bank is helping those facing food insecurity.
The Greater Lansing Food Bank on Wednesday held its 35th annual Empty Bowls event, offering an up-close look at how generosity impacts people.
This year’s event was open-house style, allowing attendees to learn about how the food bank distributes food across the seven counties it serves. Guided tours gave people a chance to pick their own handcrafted bowl.
The event featured dozens of bowls, made by local potters at Greater Lansing Potters’ Guild and Clayworks, whose members generously donate their time and talent to create hundreds of bowls each year.
The empty bowls serve as a reminder to everyone about those who have to go without food.
