LANCASTER, S.C. (WBTV) - A man is in custody in Lancaster County after allegedly breaking into several vehicles in the city, according to police.

Montavious Crawford is facing multiple charges including breaking and entering a vehicle and financial transaction crime. He is being held at the Lancaster County Detention Center.

Lancaster police said they have seen an increase in vehicle break-ins over the last few months, with Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown saying break-ins have occurred “just about every night” for about a month.

Stephen Koss, who has owned KMS Auto Repair since 2006, said he has seen more car break-in repairs over the last few years. He said thieves are targeting Dodge Challengers and Ford F-150s.
