MANCHESTER, N.H. —
WMUR is partnering with New Hampshire Food Bank to help households get enough supplies ahead of Thanksgiving.
Starting Thursday, the station will begin accepting monetary donations to support the Food Bank in its distribution efforts. It comes as the Food Bank faces an increase in demand for its services across more than 400 state agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens and emergency shelters.
In the last month alone, the Food Bank reported that distribution went up 36% across those agencies. Data shows one in nine people in the state face food insecurity, with one in seven children included in that population.
"(Agencies) are seeing double, sometimes triple the number of people that they were seeing compared to last year," said Food Bank Executive Director
